The new building was designed by schneider+schumacher as a compact structure that fits perfectly on the two different sides of the site and blends in with the heterogeneous characteristics of the existing buildings. Behind a folded, generously glazed façade, spaces are created for contemporary, sustainable and inspiring working and training environments.
The new building will offer workspaces for around 150 employees on a usable area of around 7,500 square metres, plus around 860 seminar places and event rooms. Great importance was attached to sustainability, particularly in the choice of materials, technical equipment and energy standards of the building.
Special design features of the building will include the generously glazed façade and the sculptural spiral staircase in the open atrium. Here, in the centre of the building, it connects all areas – from the marketplace in the basement to the training rooms on the second floor.
